The
National Electrical Contractors Association was founded
in 1901 as a professional organization to help set
standards in the electrical industry. NECA's mission
continues to be to promote and advance the interests
of the electrical contracting industry. Both through
its national office and through its 117 chapters,
NECA provides management and technical services to
the 5,000 electrical contractors in its membership.
The
Dakotas Chapter of NECA was founded in 1949, and
we now have 37 electrical contractors in North and
South Dakota and western Minnesota. As members of
NECA, our Smart-Wire electrical contractors employ
only the highest-skilled, best-trained electricians
in the industry. Our workers are all members of the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers,
trained and kept current through the Joint Apprenticeship
and Training Committee program run cooperatively
by NECA and IBEW.
With
the finest trained workers and a solid tradition
of excellent labor relations, you can have confidence
that a NECA contractor-wired job will be completed
on time and on budget according to the high standards
that our customers have learned to count on. In 1996,
NECA celebrated 75 strike-free years for its members
and their workers nationally. With a no-strike clause
in all our contracts with the IBEW Locals, you can
know that tradition will continue with the Dakotas
Chapter as well. The few contract disagreements that
do arise go to arbitration without work stoppages.

For
new construction, design and build projects, retrofit,
teledata, fiber optics, low voltage, fire alarms,
security systems and value added construction, think
NECA and our Smart-Wire electrical contractors in
the Dakotas and western Minnesota.
